Strawberry Lassi - A Healthy Valentine's Day Treat!
Last year I discovered the Mango Lassi and wrote about it here. This subtly sweet, tangy drink can easily pass as a shake for me. Since then I’ve experimented with several fruit varieties and . . . I’ve gotten an Oster Smoothie Maker. I like my Oster Smoothie Maker so much . . . that I have one at work AND home! It makes it so easy to whip up something healthy quickly and without the mess of the blender. And it takes up barely any space. So yes, I’m a fan!

I’ve been enjoying a variety of fruit Lassi’s, but just this weekend realized how perfect the strawberry version would be for Valentine’s Day. Specifically, to treat the kids to a morning “shake.” Look how thick it is!
Each fruit brings something different to the drink. Fresh versus frozen fruit, thin skinned versus thicker skinned fruit and natural sugar content all require some tweaking to the base recipe. The base is fruit and unflavored Greek yogurt. It has to be Greek yogurt. I’m not sure this would work at all with a traditional yogurt, but I haven’t tried it either.
For the strawberry flavor, I prefer using frozen strawberries. This recipe makes one large drink.
